Removable braces

Removable braces – often called a “loose” brace – are frequently used in early treatment for children or for minor corrections. In this video we explain everything you need to know to use them day to day.

How often are they worn?

Wearing the brace regularly is essential for the treatment to work. How long it is worn each day depends on the individual treatment plan – often several hours a day or overnight. The video also shows when the brace should not be worn.

Cleaning the brace properly

Clean the brace every day with a toothbrush. Cleaning tablets or citric acid help with deposits; rinse the brace thoroughly with water afterwards. Whenever you are not wearing it, keep it in the brace box we give you, so it stays protected and does not get lost.

Activating the brace

Many removable braces have a screw that is adjusted (“activated”) step by step following our instructions. The video shows how; how often to turn it is something we agree individually at every appointment.
