At our specialist orthodontic practice in Wolfratshausen, south of Munich, treatment can be 100% digital. Why? Because it makes treatment far more comfortable, faster and more precise. In this video we show the three building blocks.
An intraoral scan instead of impressions
We capture the teeth and the upper and lower jaw with an intraoral scanner. For patients this is far more comfortable than conventional impressions, which usually trigger a stronger gag reflex.
Digital 2D and 3D X-rays
Modern digital equipment takes X-rays with as little radiation as possible. A 3D X-ray lets us examine and assess the jaw joints, the bone around the teeth, the course of the nerves, asymmetries of the jaws, the airway and much more – including arthrosis in the jaw joint.
Fully digital 4D functional diagnostics
Fully digital functional diagnostics is a measurement that helps bring the jaw joints, chewing muscles and teeth into harmony. In many people the teeth do not fit the jaw joint: they have been straightened but do not function well. Long-term consequences such as receding gums, tooth wear, headaches, neck tension or tinnitus can follow.
These building blocks are the foundation of our holistic KFO360° concept. More on functional diagnostics and 3D X-rays.
