Frequently Asked Questions
How long do I need to wear the aligners each day?
Ideally, 20–22 hours a day. The more consistent you are, the better and faster the results will be. The aligners should only be removed from your mouth when eating or brushing your teeth; otherwise, they should remain in your mouth as much as possible. Ideally, you should brush your teeth after every meal and clean the aligners with a toothbrush and toothpaste. If you are unable to brush your teeth after every meal, we recommend at least rinsing your mouth with water and removing large food particles with interdental brushes before reinserting the aligners. It is essential to brush your teeth thoroughly every evening.
Can I eat and drink normally while wearing aligners?
You should remove the aligners before eating or drinking (except for water). This will keep them clean and prevent them from staining. Ideally, whenever you consume sugary drinks or eat a meal, you should brush your teeth or at least rinse your mouth with water before putting the aligners back in.
Will people notice that I'm wearing aligners?
Probably not! The aligners are very thin and transparent and fit snugly—most people don’t even notice they’re wearing them. For many, the aligners feel like a second skin.
What happens if I lose or damage an aligner?
This can happen, and it’s not a big deal! If you’re about to switch to the next aligner, you can simply start wearing the new one a little earlier than planned and check to see if it fits well. If you notice a gap anywhere, please come in for a checkup. A gap (space between your teeth and the aligner) is not ideal. If you had just started using the aligner that is now defective, we will likely need to make a new one.

Are aligners painful or hard to get used to?
A slight feeling of pressure at first is normal, but it usually goes away after one or two days, once your teeth have adjusted.
How do I clean my aligners?
Care Instructions for Your Aligners
Rinse your aligners with cold to lukewarm water every time you take them out—never use hot water, as this can cause them to warp. Additionally, gently brush them once a day with a soft toothbrush and a small amount of toothpaste. This will keep your aligners hygienically clean and in perfect shape.
