Botox – Relieving tension in the chewing and facial muscles
As a practice specializing in holistic orthodontics, we offer Botox therapy for extremely tense muscles, teeth grinding, and jaw clenching. Botox refers to botulinum toxin preparations (commonly known as BTX) and is often medically beneficial for reducing muscle hyperactivity and thereby restoring balanced muscle tone. With Botox therapy, we accelerate the harmonization of your masticatory system.

Why Adults Choose Botox
-
Relieves tension / Masseter Botox
For patients with severely tense chewing muscles (masseter muscle) in particular, a Botox injection is often a quick and effective solution.
-
May help relieve migraines and headaches
Botulinum toxin treatment in the forehead area often results in a significant reduction in headaches and migraines.
-
Faster results
Combining Botox therapy with CMD treatment often results in pain relief and rehabilitation of the masticatory system in a very short time.
-
Botox for Bruxism / Teeth Grinding
Severe teeth grinding and jaw clenching exert immense force on the teeth, which can wear them down quickly. Botox injections into the jaw muscles can help protect against tooth wear.

Frequently Asked Questions
At what point does Botox treatment make sense?
Botox treatment is recommended once expression lines (dynamic wrinkles) have permanently etched themselves into the skin and become static wrinkles—meaning they remain visible even when the face is at rest. When Botox (BTX) is applied strategically, it temporarily relaxes the overactive muscles, allowing lines and wrinkles to smooth out. When administered properly, the result looks natural and fresh, not “frozen.” Additionally, skin quality can improve, and fine pores appear refined. A personalized consultation is essential to determine the optimal timing and appropriate dosage.
How does Botox work?
Botox (botulinum toxin) is a medication that acts at the neuromuscular junction by blocking the transmission of signals between nerves and muscles. This temporarily reduces muscle activity, leading to muscle relaxation and the smoothing of expression lines.
Does Botox work right away?
Non.
How long do the effects of Botox last?
The effects generally last between 3 and 6 months. After this period, the treatment can be repeated if necessary.
Is Botox safe?
Yes. When administered properly by qualified physicians, Botox is a safe medication with a long track record of success. It is used worldwide in both aesthetic and medical treatments. During a personal, one-on-one consultation, we will explain the risks involved in detail.
What side effects might occur?
Mild redness, swelling, and bruising may occur around the injection sites, but these usually subside after a few days. Headaches and fatigue may occur in the first few days.
In rare cases, excessive relaxation of muscle groups may occur, which can lead to a drooping eyelid, watery eyes, or a crooked corner of the mouth. This effect subsides over time.
Very rarely, problems with swallowing, speaking, or breathing, muscle weakness, or visual disturbances (double vision) may occur. The risk is significantly increased if there is an undiagnosed neurological condition.
When should Botox not be used?
For example, Botox should not be used during pregnancy or while breastfeeding, in cases of infection, or with certain neurological conditions. Before treatment, we will assess whether there are any reasons why Botox treatment is not suitable for you.
Is Botox alone enough?
For forehead and eye wrinkles, Botox is often sufficient to visibly smooth the skin. For other muscle groups, however, it is important to identify the cause of the muscle tension. This is where our holistic approach to diagnosis and treatment comes into play—which is why it makes sense to seek treatment at a clinic that offers more than just purely aesthetic Botox treatments.
Is Botox treatment painful?
We use ultra-fine needles—the thinnest currently available on the market. Since the treatment is very brief, patients report, if anything, only a brief, slight prick at each injection site. You may feel a slight sensation of pressure during the injection.
What should I keep in mind after the treatment?
Immediately after treatment, strenuous physical activity, saunas, and massages of the treated areas should be avoided for about 24 hours. The upper body should be kept upright for the first 4 hours after treatment.
Does the body get used to Botox?
No. The body does not become dependent on Botox. The effects wear off completely after a few months.
Does my insurance cover Botox treatment?
Medical Botox treatments may be covered by private health insurance and supplemental insurance plans, depending on the specific policy. Cosmetic treatments are generally out-of-pocket expenses.
