BRACES AS UNIQUE AS YOU!
No matter who you are (short/tall, thirty-something/retired, just a regular guy/gal, vegetarian/hipster, city dweller/country bumpkin) crooked teeth can be corrected gently and permanently at any age.
We have the right braces for you.
There are two things that matter: the amount of correction needed and the amount of correction you desire. Are you more the hands-on type who wants to take an active role in your treatment or would you prefer to stay on autopilot whilst your treatment runs its course?
Is it only your front teeth which need to be straightened or does your bite need correcting too? Are external braces taboo for you because they might be a nuisance in everyday life or at work? If this is the case, we can offer you custom-fitted, transparent braces which you can change every 7-10 days, bringing you closer to your dream teeth every week. Another alternative is the use of “invisible” braces which are placed on the inside of the teeth and which can’t be seen. Or, if you are happy to have braces on the front of your teeth, we can match your taste and style: we have a range of braces from classic metal to subtle, tooth-coloured ceramic, or freakishly colourful ones.
In addition to focusing on your external appearance, there are many other details to attend to during your course of treatment. Would you like to be actively involved in the process and can we count on your cooperation? If so, we will use small rubber bands that you can hook onto your braces yourself. If you prefer an “autopilot” style of treatment, we have great devices we can rely on to help you achieve your goal (e.g. springs, hinges, mini-implants or palatal implants) requiring your minimal involvement.
As you can see there are plenty of braces options. Why? Because we are true orthodontic experts who tailor treatment specifically to you to create the unique smile which you deserve.
Let us advise you and help you find the best way for you to get a great smile.
CORRECTION OF MISALIGNED TEETH (MALOCCLUSIONS)
Mislaligned (crooked) teeth can be gently corrected, with long-lasting results, even in adulthood. We use invisible braces so that those around you hardly notice your treatment. We can either attach fixed braces to the inner surfaces of your teeth (the lingual technique) or use transparent, custom-made aligners. It is important that not only are your front teeth aesthetically beautiful, but that your whole bite is as well. We ensure that you will have beautiful front teeth AND that your chewing and biting functions get the best treatment too!
IMPROVING YOUR CHEWING FUNCTION
Beautiful straight teeth are the primary goal of orthodontic treatment. But that is not enough for us. We focus on your biting and chewing function, as well as the function of the temporomandibular joint. Your jaws should come together in such a way as to give you a healthy bite, improving the function of your teeth and balancing your mouth. This will guarantee a carefree, long-lasting smile.
ORTHODONTICS PRECEDES TOOTH REPLACEMENT/DENTAL PROSTHESIS
Before starting implant treatment or tooth replacement, it often makes sense to treat the gap orthodontically first and to move neighbouring teeth into the correct position. In these cases, we work closely together with your family dentist.
COMBINED ORTHODONTIC AND MAXILLOFACIAL SURGICAL TREATMENT
There are times when, in cases of severe jaw malocclusion (crooked teeth) in adulthood, orthodontic treatment alone is not enough: an aesthetically and functionally optimal result can only be achieved by combined orthodontic-maxillofacial surgical treatment. In these cases, we work together with specially trained and experienced oral surgeons.
TREATMENT OF TEMPOROMANDIBULAR JOINT DISORDERS / FUNCTIONAL ANALYSIS AND THERAPY
Temporomandibular joint pain as well as neck and back pain or headaches can be the result of many years of incorrect loading of the temporomandibular joint and the muscles used for chewing. This is known as cranio-mandibular dysfunction (CMD). By working closely with your family dentist, physiotherapist and osteopath, we try to permanently improve your well-being by gently moving your teeth and jaws into a functionally stable position.
ACTIVE PREVENTION OF TOOTH DECAY
Few people know that you can actively prevent tooth decay through orthodontic treatment. By treating crooked teeth, you can more easily brush the spaces in between your teeth (so-called interdental spaces) and keep them clean. This prevents tooth decay. Having an optimal bite also helps to protect your teeth from wearing down (so-called abrasion).
Orthodontic treatment protects teeth, making smiling carefree.
We Invisible Braces
Get treated in one of Germany’s largest and most experienced practices for lingual technology. Following three years of training as an orthodontic specialist, Dr. Theresa Jilek completed a two-year degree in lingual orthodontics, receiving her Master of Science in Lingual Orthodontics.
Dr Jilek worked closely together with the founder of lingual technology, Prof. Dr. Dirk Wiechmann, and is a co-developer of this innovative braces system. Not surprisingly, we love invisible braces.
And we are sure that you will love them too.
But rest assured, we also do visible braces.
treatment options
Ceramic brackets sit somewhere in the middle of our treatment options. As with all conventional braces systems, ceramic brackets are placed on the outside of your teeth. The brackets, due to their tooth-like white colour, are less visible than their metallic counterparts, making them more aesthetically appealing. Nevertheless, ceramic braces still aren’t the most popular choice. The top choice for inconspicuousness still goes to internal, “hidden”, braces (lingual technique).
This technique requires specialist expertise. Your child is in safe hands with us, as we have extensive experience with this modern orthodontic system, and were even involved in its development.
Fixed braces are used to correct severe tooth misalignments quickly and reliably. Brackets (small metal holders) are attached to the surface of the teeth and connected by wire arches. These arches transfer precisely measured forces to the teeth, thus moving the teeth into the correct position in the jaw.
The brackets are attached to the outer tooth surface and are usually made of metal, making the braces clearly visible. If you prefer, we can use more aesthetically pleasing, tooth-coloured, “white” ceramic brackets.
Small and moderate misalignments such as crowding, rotation or gaps can be corrected with transparent aligners, such as “Invisalign”, which are almost invisible and highly effective. Different aligners are worn over a period of time and with each new plastic aligner the teeth are moved, step by step, into the desired position. This treatment technique doesn’t use wires to move teeth.
The advantages of aligner therapy include:
Inconspicuous correction
Because the aligner is made of transparent plastic, others will hardly notice that braces are being worn.
Very comfortable to wear
The transparent aligners are wafer-thin (only about 0.5 mm) and fit extremely precisely.
Gentle treatment
Due to the tiny tooth movements made with each aligner, aligner therapy is almost pressure- and pain-free.
Practical for everyday life
The aligners can be removed at any time for eating, drinking or dental care.
Aligners can be used to correct light to moderate misalignments quickly and reliably.

We recommend attaching a custom-made, wire retainer to the inside of the front teeth, in order to ensure that the perfect result from your child’s treatment lasts for the long term. The retainer is invisible from the outside and doesn’t interfere with either speech or chewing.
It is important that this fixed adhesive retainer is checked regularly by a specialist, the first time by us and afterwards either by us or your family dentist.
Plates can be used to tilt teeth and help to expand the jaw. These braces can also be used as a temporary space holder in cases where early milk teeth have been lost due to tooth decay or trauma. The space holder keeps the gap open until the permanent tooth has come through.
Functional orthodontic appliances such as a Bionator, activator, twin block or Frankel functional regulator, have a holistic treatment approach as they influence the entire masticatory system and activate the body’s own chewing, lip, tongue and cheek muscles. They are excellent for controlling jaw growth by either stimulating or inhibiting it. In the case of mandibular recession, for example, the growth of the lower jaw can be significantly promoted with the help of these appliances.
In addition, removable braces can help to correct the tongue’s resting position, incorrect swallowing patterns and habitual mouth breathing. Bad habits such as thumb sucking, nail or lip biting and prolonged dummy use can also be treated, preventing chewing function related developmental disorders. The earlier a habit is treated, the easier and more successful the treatment is.
Serious developmental disorders can be prevented, and natural growth promoted, through early intervention.
One of the most valuable tasks of orthodontics is the timely recognition and elimination of problems and maldevelopments.
